Who REALLY Saved "Part of Your World"

edited November 2014 in Disney
A few sources that I have come across have said that, when Jeffrey Katzenberg announced his desire to cut "Part of Your World" (due to it seeming to test poorly in one screening with an audience of school children, who became rowdy during the scene), Howard managed to dissuade him. Well, the individual who saved that song from being removed was actually Glen Keane, the supervising animator of Ariel. Glen appealed to Katzenberg saying, "If you cut this song, you'll be gutting the audience's emotional connection with our heroine." As fortune would have it, Katzenberg relented, agreeing that it was other points in the story that weren't firing off, and thus "Part of Your World" was saved. (Thank God for Glen Keane!)

So, I just thought I would clarify this a bit for those of you who didn't know.
